Temi Robot - User Manual
This user manual covers essential information to manage, troubleshoot and handle your Temi robot.
Safety
Avoid stairs, drops, or flammable environments.
Never overload the tray (max 6 lbs) or place liquids on it.
Handle with care; keep Temi upright and on flat surfaces.
Getting Started

Step:
Unboxing: Handle with care and keep the box for future use.
Home Base Setup: Place on a hard surface with clear space around atleast 1.5 feet away from other robot.
Powering Temi: Press the power button; standby mode saves energy.
Mobile App Activation: Use the QR code to sync and activate Temi.
Temi Mobile App

Step:
Syncing Contacts: Ensure user have the app and correct admin phone number saved.
Scan QR: Use QR code to sync Temi with the app for control and features.
Setting Up Alexa & Hey, temi (Recommended): Connect to Alexa and temi to benefit from both voice assistants simultaneously choose “Alexa & Hey, temi”.
User Management
There are 4 organization roles of temi users:
Root Admin (limited to one) / Admin / Collaborator / Guest

Adding a "Member"

Step:
Ensure the user has the Temi app and appears under the "Calls" tab.
Go to the "Temi" tab, select the robot, and tap "Members."
Tap "Invite new," select contacts, and confirm with the green checkmark.
Added members can connect to the robot independently.
Multiple members can be invited at once.
Members can leave by selecting "Leave [Temi name]" in the app.
Admins can only be removed via factory reset, which deletes all data.
Software Update
Automatic Updates: Temi will automatically display a prompt to install.
Manual Updates: Go to Settings > About > Software Update to update manually.

Temi & Alexa Command

Temi: Use “Hey Temi” commands or tap to call contacts. e.g. "Hey temi, What's the weather?"
Alexa: Use “Alexa” commands. e.g. "Alexa, Turn on the light"
Video Calls


Video calls: temi
To make a video call from Temi:
By voice: Say, “Hey Temi, call [name].”
By touch: Select a member or owner via the screen. (Voice calls work only with “Hey Temi”; Alexa support is coming soon.)
Video calls: mobile app
To call via the mobile app:
Select a contact in the ‘Contacts’ tab to connect to their robot or mobile device.
Admins and Members connect automatically; other calls require acceptance.
Calls can be dismissed within a few seconds on the robot's side.
Video calls: temi center
To access contacts and recent calls:
Press the Contacts tab on the top bar.
Go to Contacts > Members to view your information.
Tap the Monitor icon to call Temi Center.
Tours

The Tours app lets you view and follow tours created in the Temi Center, guiding you at your own or the creator’s pace.
To open the Tours app: Tap the top-right of the screen and select “Tours” (you may need to swipe).
To start a tour: Tap the desired tour from the list.
During the tour: Tap a location to go there or to end the tour, tap the checkmark in the top-right corner.
Tour Options:
Activate Q&A.
Show the home screen of the tour.
Select another location.
End the tour.
Temi will automatically end the tour after 10 minutes of inactivity, but this time can be adjusted in the Temi Center.
Map & Navigation

Step:
Creating a Map
Tap the Interaction Button on Temi’s head to activate Follow Mode.
Walk around to map your environment, covering all areas.
After mapping, return to the Home Base and select Save Map.
Backup your map via Temi Center to prevent data loss.
Adding Locations
Use the command: “Hey Temi, save this location as [name].”
Alternatively, go to the Map Editor or app during a video call to add locations.
Virtual Walls and Paths
Add Virtual Walls to restrict movement in certain areas.
Create Paths to guide Temi efficiently between locations.
Patrol Mode
Set a minimum of two saved locations for patrols.
Temi will navigate automatically between them.
Map Editing
Use the Map Editor to adjust elements like locations, paths, and walls.
Features include renaming, repositioning, or deleting map elements.
Resetting or Expanding the Map
Reset the map via Settings > Map Editor > Map Options > Remap.
Use the Continue Mapping feature to add new areas to an existing map.
Navigation Optimization
Adjust settings like obstacle sensitivity, speed, and accurate arrival from Settings > Navigation.
Enable High-Performance Navigation for larger, more detailed maps.
Backup and Restore
Always backup maps on Temi Center to ensure recovery in case of resets or errors.
Modes
There are 4 options to choose from:
Default Mode: Standard behavior.
Standby Mode: Temi's screen will display screensaver image if not been in use over 30 seconds.
Greet Mode: Temi greets users upon detection.
Privacy Mode: Camera/microphone disabled, notifications muted.
General Settings
General Settings - Simplified
Power > Battery
Battery Percentage: Show battery percentage in the status bar when enabled.
Return to Home Base on Low Battery: Temi will return to its home base when battery reaches a set percentage (max 70%).
Ignore Interruptions on Low Battery: Temi ignores interactions while going to the home base when low on battery.
Power > Standby
Standby Mode: After 5 minutes of inactivity, Temi’s screen dims and shows a clock (up to 10 minutes).
Password & Security
Set Password: Set a password for accessing settings, calls, control, and standby mode.
Master Password: Created on Temi Center; needed for password settings.
Calls
Allow Incoming Calls: Control if members and contacts can call Temi.
Control During Video Calls: Prevent contacts from controlling Temi during calls.
Microphone Gain Level: Adjust microphone sensitivity during video calls.
Firewall Mode: Enable firewall protection for Temi.
Voice and Sound Interaction
Interaction Animation: Choose from 11 animations for voice interaction.
Wake-Up: Control Temi’s response when called.
Custom Wake-Up: Set a custom wake-up word.
Turn to Voice: Temi turns toward the voice.
Touch Interaction > Physical Buttons
Power Button: Option to disable the power button.
Volume Buttons: Option to disable the volume buttons.
Interaction Button: Enable/disable interactions with Temi.
Notifications
Fullscreen Navigation Notification: Hide the location name on the screen.
Navigation Status Label: Hide the green navigation label.
Navigation Error Notification: Hide error notifications during navigation.
Other Settings
Date & Time: Choose between 12-hour or 24-hour format.
Tracking User: Temi will greet users when it detects them.
Auto Return: Temi returns to a predefined location after inactivity.
Screen Brightness
Adjust Brightness: Tap the volume buttons or swipe up to access the brightness control bar.
Do's and Don'ts
TIP: When in Follow Mode the user is fully responsible to lead temi safely. Do not in any case lead temi towards stairs, cliffs, or any drops which might cause it to fall.
